AmerCareRoyal is a private-equity-backed supplier of essential foodservice packaging and preparation products, serving national customers from shipping points across North America. Long delivery durations, shifting priorities, and IT resource constraints were slowing the company's ability to respond to the market.
The challenge
A current-state assessment, built on stakeholder interviews across business and IT, surfaced three recurring issues: unclear requirements and shifting scope that drove rework and delays; unclear ownership, with teams disengaging once planning ended; and missing Agile roles, with no clear Product Owners, Scrum Masters, or cross-functional teams.
How we helped
We grew a group of internal change agents across IT and the business and trained them on the Agile mindset, the Scrum framework, and clear roles. To make work visible, we stood up a model project in Azure DevOps with a standardized template, a tailored Kanban board, defined backlogs, and embedded collaboration to sharpen user stories and tie priorities to business value, with quality built in from the start.
The result
Delivery moved to a predictable, value-led model under the pace and accountability that private-equity ownership demands: clearer ownership, better visibility, and a foundation the team can carry forward on its own. Led by CIO Thai Vong.
