Client Delivery Services Director
Own the health of every client engagement, and make sure Agile Brains delivers on every commitment it makes.
Position Summary
Agile Brains Consulting is a partner for the full range of enterprise IT: the talent to staff a function, the consulting to shape it, the managed services to run it, and the training to make teams self-sufficient, with AI woven through the work. The firm was built on a simple conviction, that honest thinking, shared openly, helps clients solve hard problems and then stand on their own. It is measured by results, and by whether it leaves clients stronger. As our portfolio of client engagements grows across these practices, we need a single accountable owner for the commercial and delivery health of that work.
The Client Delivery Services Director is that owner. This Director-level role manages Agile Brains' active client accounts end to end: statements of work, scheduling, delivery progress against milestones, invoicing, and the relationships that keep clients confident and renewing. The role is delivery and sales focused, not project execution. The Director does not run the day-to-day work inside client teams; our consultants and service providers do that. The job is to ensure Agile Brains delivers on the commitments in every SOW: that engagements stay on time and on scope, that stakeholders always know where things stand, and that opportunities to grow and renew are surfaced to Sales.
This is the orchestration layer of the business, the connective tissue between clients, delivery talent, Sales, and leadership. It is also a direct expression of the standard the brand is built on: tell clients the truth, then deliver the range to back it up. The Director is the proof behind that promise, the assurance that what we said we would deliver, we delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Account and engagement oversight
- Portfolio ownership. Manage a portfolio of concurrent client engagements across the firm's practices (talent and staffing, consulting and transformation, managed services, and training), serving as the accountable owner for the overall delivery and commercial health of each account.
- SOW management. Own statements of work across their lifecycle (scope, deliverables, timelines, and terms), ensuring work stays within scope and flagging change orders or scope adjustments as engagements evolve.
- Delivery governance. Track delivery progress against milestones and deadlines across all engagements; proactively identify risks, schedule slips, and resourcing gaps, and drive them to resolution before they impact the client.
- On-time, on-scope delivery. Be accountable that Agile Brains meets the commitments in each SOW (delivery dates met, deliverables accepted, and quality upheld) without personally running the client's project.
Client communication and stakeholder management
- Primary point of contact. Serve as the senior point of contact for client stakeholders on engagement status, escalations, and the overall relationship.
- Status reporting. Communicate clear, timely status to client stakeholders and Agile Brains leadership: progress, risks, decisions needed, and next steps.
- Relationship management. Build trusted relationships with client sponsors that protect delivery, drive satisfaction, and support retention and renewal.
Commercial and financial management
- Invoicing and billing. Own the invoicing cycle for managed accounts, ensuring accurate, on-time billing tied to SOW terms and milestones, and resolving billing questions with clients.
- Scheduling and resourcing. Manage engagement scheduling and the matching of consultants and service providers to active and upcoming work, balancing client needs against available delivery capacity.
Sales partnership and growth
- Opportunity hand-off. Identify expansion, follow-on, and new opportunities within existing accounts and communicate them to Sales with the context needed to pursue them.
- Renewal and continuity. Partner with Sales to support renewals and continuity of engagements, ensuring smooth transitions from sold work to delivered work.
Service provider and delivery network management
- Provider management. Work with Agile Brains' consultants and external service providers to confirm assignments, expectations, and delivery against SOW commitments.
- Network growth. Support the process to source, evaluate, and onboard new service providers, helping expand the bench of delivery talent available to the firm.
Required Qualifications
- Project and software delivery expertise. Deep, demonstrated knowledge of project management and the management of software projects, sufficient to credibly oversee delivery, assess risk, and hold engagements accountable.
- Delivery-and-sales orientation. A delivery-services mindset rather than a hands-on project execution mindset; comfortable owning commercial outcomes, client relationships, and the orchestration of work across many accounts.
- Account and SOW management. Proven experience managing client accounts, statements of work, and the full delivery lifecycle in a consulting, professional services, or agency environment.
- Stakeholder communication. Excellent written and verbal communication; able to manage senior client stakeholders, lead status conversations, and handle escalations with confidence.
- Vendor and resource coordination. Experience managing consultants, subcontractors, or service providers and coordinating scheduling and resourcing across concurrent engagements.
- Commercial acumen. Familiarity with invoicing, billing cycles, and the commercial mechanics of SOW-based engagements.
- Detail orientation and ownership. Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented; able to keep many engagements, dates, and commitments in view simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, Agile (CSM or SAFe), or equivalent project and delivery management certification.
- Background delivering Agile transformation, technology, or software consulting engagements.
- Experience in a growing consulting firm where this role operates as the engagement and delivery management layer.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
How Success Is Measured
- On-time, on-scope delivery of SOW commitments across the managed portfolio.
- Client satisfaction, retention, and renewal rates.
- Accuracy and timeliness of invoicing and billing.
- Quality and responsiveness of stakeholder status communication.
- Qualified expansion opportunities surfaced to Sales.
- Strength and growth of the service provider delivery network.
